Creative & Marketing Support Brief
Overview
The St Patrick’s Day Parade Association Inc is a volunteer-run, not-for-profit entity that has two key goals:
To organise the annual St Patrick’s Day Parade in Brisbane, with over 40 floats and 500 participants and an estimated crowd of 10,000 people, lining the city streets.
To facilitate and promote the Brisbane Irish Festival, anchored by the parade, with like-minded entities.
The Association is seeking an experienced marketing and creative professional or agency to provide external support across design, web, and communications leading up to the 2026 festival in March.
Working closely with the Communications Lead (a position on the Association’s Management Committee), this role covers branding, digital, and print production to ensure cohesive and high-quality delivery across all festival materials and marketing channels.
Key Responsibilities
Website Updates and Management
- Update and refresh the existing WordPress website, built with the Divi theme, to reflect the upcoming festival program and events.
- Ensure all sponsor acknowledgments and commitments are fulfilled online.
- Optimise web content for SEO and ensure consistent copy tone and messaging.
Graphic Design and Production
Based on content provided, design and produce festival materials including:
- Sponsorship brochure (8+ pages)
- Parade posters, banners, flyers, and road notices
- Stationery and templates
- 32-page festival program, including full layout, ad management, and printer liaison
- Manage pre-press preparation, paper selection, and file delivery to printers.
- Work closely with the Communications Lead and advertisers to ensure timely ad delivery and approval.
Marketing and Campaigns
- Working with the Communications Lead, develop and schedule social media graphics and campaigns across key platforms.
- Produce content for digital ads, billboard graphics, and liaise with the Communications Lead and advertising providers.
- Working with the Communications Lead, create engaging copy for web, print, and social channels.
- Support occasional video editing and posting for promotional content.
Collaboration and Reporting
- Liaise with the Communications Lead for creative approvals and updates.
- Provide written progress reports and status updates to the Communications Lead, primarily aligned with the Committee’s meetings (usually monthly).
- Working with the Communications Lead, coordinate production schedules to meet strict deadlines between January and March 2026.
Skills and Experience Required
- Proven experience in graphic design, web design, and marketing coordination.
- Proficiency in WordPress (Divi theme), Adobe Creative Suite, and basic video editing tools.
- Strong understanding of SEO, copywriting, and brand tone.
- Demonstrated experience managing print production and working with external printers.
- Excellent project management and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively.
Engagement size and timing
The total estimated effort for the role is in the range of 50 to 70 hours, though some extra time may be required in the first year and efficiencies may be found in subsequent years. Most of the work will occur between January and March 2026, with planning and briefing beginning in mid-late January 2026.
